Nottingham City Council's Energy Strategy includes the plan to build a wind turbine on Victoria Embankment. There is currently a planning application bring considered for a wind turbine 67 metres high.
New York's Statue of Liberty is 47 metres, whilst the Clock Tower at The Houses of Parliament is 89 metres; this wind turbine will measure somewhere between the two.
Saghir said "This will change the appearance of the whole Embankment and Meadows Recreation Ground, as well as create a lot of noise in this peaceful area of our city."
"I think it's great to find more ways to get greener energy, but this wind turbine should go somewhere else."
"There are plenty of industrial parks nearby that would be perfect for this project."
