Still Here And Still Working For You

Abandond BikeAs part of our work this month we have reported a few jobs to the council to sort out.

Abandoned Bike

At the Queens Medical Centre / A52 island there was abandoned bike that has now been removed.

Faded Road Markings

We have also reported the lines at the junction of Radmarsh Road and Derby Road which have faded to almost nothing. This problem is causing confusion around this junction and Highways have said they will re-paint them within the next three months.

Street Cleaning

We have asked for the area around the Bluecoat School entrance on Sutton Passeys Crescent to be clear as there was a lot of tree debris and leaves.

Missed Bins

Dave Oldham also reported bins missed being emptied on Arden Close as well as dog foulling on the same road.

Adams Hill Road ConditionAdams Hill Road Condition

While one of our campaigners was on Adams Hill he noticed a large crevice along the gutter of the road. The hole was as deep as Michael's hand and about 6 feet long.

We have reported this to the council for correction as it is only going to get worse and is a blight on the road.

We have now been informed that a Highway Inspector has visited the site and a repair of the hole is now in their programme of works. It should be done within the next 28 working days.

We shall be monitoring the situation.

A local resident has already reported parts of the road surface breaking up and this has been put on the councils list for road resurfacing. This may take some time.

Michael Thomas in front of a empty houseEmpty Homes

Empty Homes are a big problem in England. There are a shortage homes in the country and the waiting lists for homes are getting longer.

There are many reasons why a house may be left empty for long periods.

After finding one empty home in Wollaton Park, the Focus Team have been looking out for any others they can report the Empty Homes Officer at the council to find out if the Landlord or owner can bring these homes back in to use.

If you know of any empty homes please email us with the address and we will report it and keep an eye on the progress.

UPDATE - so far the team have found at least 6 other empty homes in the Wollaton Park area and a couple in Lenton Abbey. They will be keeping a watch on these properties
