May needs to commit to future of foreign aid - Lynne Featherstone

Responding to Theresa May's failure to commit to the future of the 0.7% aid target, former Liberal Democrat Home Office Minister Lynne Featherstone said:

"Theresa May seems determined to not only drag the UK out of Europe but also pull up the drawbridge to the rest of the world.

"Our foreign aid spending is something to be proud of, not only does it save and improve lives around the world but it builds Britain's reputation abroad.

"Theresa May needs to reign in the Tory right wing and reaffirm our country's commitment to helping others around the world.

"The Liberal Democrats are the only party standing up to keep the UK more open, tolerant and united."
